A billing and coding certification is a professional credential that recognizes billing and coding specialists and helps them showcase their expertise to employers. A billing and billing and coding specialists processes medical bills, insurance claims and payments. They create coded data that hospitals and medical providers use to obtain reimbursement from insurance companies or government programs. Medical billers then use that coded information to prepare and send invoices to patients and insurance providers (https://www.indeed.com/career-advice/career-development/billing-and-coding-certification).
Program length: 5 weeks online studies, quizzes, and assessments. Students meet weekly with instructor via Microsoft Teams.
After successfully passing the program, students will take NHA national certification exam to become a Certified Medical Billing and Coding Specialist (CBCS). Certification exams are taken on campus at our school with a live in person proctor.

In this day and age of a competitive workforce, it’s important to be highly skilled in fields that require specialization. That's why SCMA has developed an excellent duo program which allows phlebotomy students and students from other programs to add this basic skill set their learning.
Combining the skills of both an EKG specialist and phlebotomist provides valuable data which gives physicians the insight needed for diagnosis and lifesaving treatment.
Many hospitals, doctors’ offices, and healthcare facilities (especially elderly care) are beginning to look for dual trained professionals.

Our Pharmacy Technician Program is a 8 (eight) week program. Students meet two day a week.

Our MHTC program is a 10 weeks, 108 hours comprehensive training program that consist of lectures, labs, clinicals, and training and certification in Handle with Care and Basic Life Support. This program will provide the knowledge and skills necessary to promote empathy, support and healing while safely and effectively working with people diagnosed with a mental illness.
After completion of the program and required clinicals students will become eligible to take AMCA national certification exam to become a certified Mental Health Technician. AMCA certification exams are nationally accredited certification exams accredited by National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA), a division of the Institute for Credentialing Excellence (ICE).
Lecture and lab one day a week on Saturday, 3 hours each day. Additionally, students will receive training and certification in BLS and Handle with Care. This training will help prepare students for clinicals and ensure students are job ready with all the necessary skills to be successful. Week 10 students report to clinical site to complete their externship.

Our Nurse Aide/ Nurse Assistant curriculum is approved by Mississippi Department of Health (facility # 0585). THIS PROGRAM IS A COMBINED COURSE THAT CONSIST OF 76 HOURS OF LECTURE, LAB, AND CLINICAL.

We offer a flexible Nurse Aide program of study and curriculum consisting of 76 hours combined lecture, lab, and clinical.
Class consist of two days a week. We offer morning and evening sessions. This is a 6 weeks program.

Our EKG Technician Program is eight (8) weeks. 64 hour comprehensive EKG course. Students meet two days a week, 4 hours each session on Monday and Thursday evening. Students learn the art of Electrocardiography, how to conduct 3,5,6, and 12 lead EKG, Rhythm Interpretation, Stress Testing and Holter Monitoring.
